Assemblages

In this ongoing series the artist explores perceptions of the Landscape. The geography, geology, flora and fauna of a region. The passage of time and its effects on objects and matter. Our knowledge of these factors along with our own personal attachments all combine to form our understanding and view of the world we inhabit.

These pieces utilize a range of materials related to the subject matter. Keystone, (fossilized coral reef), driftwood, fossils, limestone, ceramic and painted panels make up the bulk of the media in the Florida based panels. Petrified wood and desert minerals add dimension to the South Western pieces.

Through the juxtaposition and layering of these media the artist attempts to express how his ever changing understanding shapes his perception and relationship to his surroundings. He would wish that viewing and experiencing this artwork might move others in similar directions.
